The Field of Fortune campaign received a major early boost with the successful completion of its €5,000 Christmas Cash Draw, which exceeded all expectations and set a new benchmark for fundraising within Louth GAA.

The draw took place at the Dome in Drogheda, kindly facilitated by Dessie McDonald and St. Nicholas GFC, and was independently observed. Organisers were delighted to confirm that ticket sales for this early-bird draw more than doubled original projections, providing a strong foundation for the remainder of the campaign.

The €5,000 prize was won by Fr. Padraig Keenan of Haggardstown, a well-known and long-time supporter of Louth GAA. The winning ticket was sold by Dermot Clarke of Sean McDermotts GFC, highlighting the vital role played by club sellers across the county.

In just three and a half weeks since launch, the Field of Fortune campaign has already raised over €125,000, representing a new record in Louth GAA fundraising history. This exceptional start is credited to the positive response from supporters and the tireless efforts of volunteers and ticket sellers who have been driving sales on the ground.

The campaign has also benefited from the introduction of a digital sellers’ platform, providing live, up-to-date information on ticket sales and performance. This system has significantly enhanced organisation and engagement across the county.

Field of Fortune is Louth GAA’s flagship fundraising campaign, created to support the development of the new Louth GAA Stadium and ensure the county has facilities that meet the needs of players, clubs and supporters well into the future.

At the heart of the campaign is a county-wide fundraising draw, offering supporters the chance to win life-changing prizes while directly contributing to the stadium project. The main prize draw takes place on 3rd August 2026, with a €200,000 cash first prize, alongside additional major prizes including a car to the value of €25,000 and a €10,000 travel voucher.

Tickets are priced at €50, and each ticket provides entry into all promotional draws as well as the main draw. In addition to the headline prizes, the campaign features a series of early-bird and bonus incentives designed to keep momentum strong and reward supporters at every stage of the journey.

All funds raised through Field of Fortune will go directly towards the development of the new Louth GAA Stadium, a transformational project for Gaelic games in the county. The stadium will provide a permanent home for Louth GAA, improve matchday experiences, and support player development across all codes and age groups.

Field of Fortune represents not just a fundraising draw, but a collective effort by the Louth GAA community to invest in the future of the county. Every ticket sold is a step closer to delivering a stadium that everyone involved in Louth GAA can be proud of.

Louth GAA officially launched its Field of Fortune Fundraising Campaign at a well-attended event in the DkIT Sports Dome, Dundalk, marking the beginning of what has already proven to be a landmark fundraising initiative for the county.

The launch was led by Louth GAA Chairperson Seán McClean, alongside Field of Fortune Project Chair Colm Marry, and was supported by a strong turnout of club members, volunteers, supporters and invited guests. Also in attendance were Louth GAA All Stars Paddy Keenan, Sam Mulroy and Craig Lennon, whose presence added to the sense of excitement and momentum around the campaign.

Addressing those present, Seán McClean provided an update on the progress of the new Louth GAA Stadium, outlining its importance for players, supporters and the wider community across the county. He highlighted Field of Fortune as a vital step in helping to deliver a modern, fit-for-purpose stadium that will serve Louth GAA for generations to come.

Colm Marry then gave an overview of the Field of Fortune draw, explaining how the campaign will run over the coming months and how funds raised will directly support the stadium development project. He also outlined the structure of the draw, including the main prize of €200,000 cash, and a series of promotional early-bird incentives designed to reward supporters throughout the campaign.

The strong attendance on the night reflected the enthusiasm and positivity surrounding the initiative, with many attendees already committing to supporting the draw through ticket purchases and sales. With a successful launch completed, Field of Fortune is now fully underway and gathering pace across the county.
